Viva Acappella has competing quartets within the chorus. If you're looking for a smaller ensemble to sing at your event, why not get in touch with one of these groups?

Ladies' Quartets

Sophie Hasson (Bass), Sarah Netherton (Baritone), Gemma Fox (Lead), Veryan Zimber (Tenor)

Fortuity, featuring our bass Sophie Hasson, are 4 gals from the UK who adore barbershop and everything that goes along with it! We have been singing together for 6 years but in this current line up for just over a year and a half. They have competed in both LABBS (The Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers) & Sweet Adelines Region 31 contests, winning LABBS in 2011 and Sweet Adelines Region 31 in 2013. That same year at the international contest held in Honolulu Hawaii, we placed 13th and won the Novice Quartet Award.

Sophie Wilson (Bass), Karen Lillywhite (Baritone), Helen Warner (Lead), Boo de Bruin (Tenor)

Avalon, featuring our Lead Section Leader, PRO and Performance Team member Helen Warner, are a female a cappella quartet spread across the south, from Bristol to Reading to London! Founded in January 2017, all four have been members of The University of Bristol Barbershop Singers (TUBBS – now the University of Bristol A Cappella Society) and enjoyed spending their first year building their repertoire, from Disney classics to barbershop standards. The ladies were very excited to have placed 3rd in the LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers) finals in October 2017, earning bronze medals. They’re now working towards LABBS 2018.

Sophie Hasson (Bass), Carly Au (Baritone), Alice Mills (Lead), Harriet Hallam (Tenor)

DeciBelles have been singing together since they met at Bristol University in 2009. Despite current geographic differences (the members are based in Norwich, Bristol and London), they have managed to achieve a coveted Top 10 place at Sweet Adelines Region 31 in 2015. Having taken a year out to build repertoire, they're excited to be back on the contest scene, planning to compete at LABBS 2018. The quartet enjoy singing a wide range of songs, from traditional barbershop, to pop, Disney and show tunes, as well as some arrangements by members of the quartet.

Ros Kipps (Bass), *Searching for a new member!* (Baritone), Alex Bowden (Lead), Emma Beeden (Tenor)

Nightfall, featuring our wonderful Assistant Director and Bass Section Leader Ros, is a relatively new but ambitious quartet, formed in summer 2016. They were over the moon to win Fourth Place Bronze Medals in their first contest at Sweet Adelines Region 31 in May 2017 and were honoured to be invited to represent the UK in the European Quartet Contest in October 2017 where they placed 6th in Europe! A distance quartet with the lead in Buxton, the bass in London, and the tenor in Nottingham, Nightfall represents both Viva Acappella and our R31 friends in Heartbeat UK chorus (Stockport). They are currently searching for an ambitious, hard working and fun baritone to continue their journey so if you're interested in competing in a high-level quartet, get in touch. (It's not all hard work - we're told they're also big fans of tea, ice cream and the occasional gin...!)

Dolce Vita

Cly Wallace (Bass), Chantel Parsons (Baritone), Grace Morgan (Lead), Gaynor Scofield (Tenor)

A brand new ladies' quartet, featuring three members of Viva Acappella (including our fabulous Musical Director, Gaynor).

Heather Wright (Bass), Grace Nissen (Baritone), Emma Collins (Lead), Natalie Faulkner (Tenor)

Concordia is an exciting new quartet based in the South East made up of Nat on Tenor, Emma on Lead, Grace on Baritone, and Heather on Bass.

Nat, Emma, and Grace sing with Viva Acappella, and Nat and Heather sing with London City Singers.

Concordia formed in late 2017 and hope to compete this year in both SAI and LABBS.  Watch this space...

Mixed Voice Quartets

Laurence Hasson (Bass), James Whittick (Baritone), Luke Stevenson (Lead), Helen Warner (Tenor)

Scramble, featuring Helen Warner (Lead Section Leader, PRO & Performance Team Member), are a mixed voice a cappella and barbershop ensemble from London, UK. Having only just formed in the summer of 2017, they were incredibly excited to win the Silver Medals at the UK’s Barbershop in Harmony Mixed Quartet Contest in November 2017. They're even more excited to have been offered the chance to represent the UK in the BinG! World Mixed Quartet contest in April 2018! Click here for details of their upcoming fundraising concert.

True to their name, Scramble sing in a variety of lineups: Helen has sung lead, tenor and baritone; Luke has sung bass and lead; James has done baritone and bass; and Laurence has athletically jumped from bass to tenor and even dabbled in a little lead...!

Julian Pieters (Bass), Colin Howarth (Baritone), Rosalind Kipps (Lead), Lisa Robathan (Tenor)

Our Assistant Director and Bass Section Leader Ros gets to show off her lady bass voice and unleash her inner lead singing in men's pitch with Scandal quartet. These four keen beans met at the UK Harmony Brigades in 2016 and 2017 and decided on a whim that it would be fun to enter a scratch quartet in the national mixed contest. Their geographic spread (Sheffield, Edinburgh, London and Staines!) makes getting rehearsal time together tricky but their "Extreme Quartet" training equipped them well to manage on next-to-zero rehearsal and they went on to win the 3rd place Bronze Medal at the Barbershop in Harmony Mixed Quartet contest in November. They are all off to Munich in April 2018 to represent the UK in the World Mixed Chorus Contest at BinG! with their other UKHB/EQ buddies and are working towards this year's BinH contest in Gateshead in May.

John Williams (Bass), Stuart Eels (Baritone), Ceejai Seaman (Lead), Fi Trench (Tenor)

A brand new mixed quartet, with our Bass Section Leader Ceejai and our lead Fi. They're competing in the UK BinH contest in May 2018 - watch this space!
