Viva Acappella dare to bare for charity

21 March 2014

Female chorus Viva Acappella supported the latest Facebook craze in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness this week, by taking a ‘no makeup’ selfie and posting online.

The acappella chorus, based in Bexley who compete both nationally and internationally are used to wearing a lot of fake tan, false eye lashes and heavy stage makeup for their competitions and for many women in the group being seen in public without any makeup is a big challenge.  Michelle Daniels commented, “The nature of our hobby involves not just the way we sing but the way we perform and the way we look.  We have been known to have lost marks at competitions for not wearing enough blush or our lipstick colour not matching.  It was a refreshing change to do the opposite and all in aid of a charity that is very close to some of our member’s hearts”.

The chorus members all donated either via text or with cash to be paid to the charity.  They have even nominated other choruses in the Sweet Adelines International Region 31 to do the same.
