800 children will take part in the Eater Egg Hunt in Petts Wood supported by 21 local businesses.
Local a cappella chorus, Viva Acappella, are joining forces with local Petts Wood businesses to put on a family Easter Egg Hunt in the town on Saturday 26 March 2016. Supporters of the event include Sainsbury’s, WHSmith Local, Boots Opticians, Belles Florist & Face and Body Clinic to name a few. Pre-registration for the event, which saw over 400 places sold in 40 minutes, has been so successful that a second route has been arranged to cater for a further 400 children.
All 21 businesses taking part are providing 400 treats for the children ranging from lollies to colouring books, eggs to a lucky dip.
Organiser Helen Terry of Viva Acappella commented “We have been overwhelmed by the amount of interest this event has received with places selling out so quickly and the demand for more has been so high, that we have added a second route. We will have 800 children taking part and we have over 25 volunteers from the chorus and friends & family who will be helping on the day”.
The Egg Hunt begins at the Memorial Gardens from 11am – 1.30pm and costs just £3 per person. In addition there will be an Easter bunny meeting the children and a face painter. There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
The fundraising event is being organised by Viva Acappella who are currently raising money to compete at the Sweet Adelines International Barbershop Championships in Las Vegas in October this year, where they will be representing the UK & Netherlands against choruses from all over the world.
